Nomegestrol acetate (INN; Lutenyl) or 19-normegestrol acetate is a steroidal progestin with additional antigonadotropic effects which was introduced in 1986 and is used as a hormonal contraceptive. Unlike many other steroidal progestogens it is selective for the progesterone receptor lacking any significant affinity for other steroid receptors such as the androgen estrogen glucocorticoid and mineralocorticoid receptors.
