NGC 3603-B is the most massive star in NGC 3603 about 20000 light years from Earth. It is one of the most luminous stars known and also one of the most massive. The projected initial mass is 166 M☉ stretching current theories of star formation. It is a Wolf-Rayet star and part of the multi-star system HD 97950.
