New Zealand Republic Inc. is an organisation formed in 1994 whose object is to support the creation of a New Zealand republic. The campaign chair is Savage a west Auckland writer and painter. The patron of the New Zealand Republic is Keri Hulme a New Zealand writer who won the 1985 Booker Prize for her novel The Bone People. The organisation is not aligned to any political party in New Zealand including the Republic of New Zealand Party.
