Not to be confused with Brooklyn Naval ShipyardNaval Station New York is a former United States Navy Naval Station on Staten Island in New York City.Opened in the 1980s it was to be part of the Reagan administration’s Strategic Homeport program. The station had two sections: a Strategic Homeport in Stapleton and a larger section near Fort Wadsworth where the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge enters the island.
