National Weather Service – Shreveport LA is a local weather forecast office responsible for monitoring weather conditions for counties in South Central and Southwestern Arkansas North Central and Northwestern Louisiana McCurtain County in Southeastern Oklahoma and Eastern and Northeastern Texas. The current office in Shreveport maintains a WSR-88D (NEXRAD) radar system and Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS) that greatly improve forecasting in the region.
