The National Weather Service (NWS) once known as the Weather Bureau is a part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of the United States government. It is headquartered in Silver Spring Maryland.The NWS is tasked with providing forecasts public warnings and other products to organizations and the public for the purposes of protection safety and general information.
