The National Theatre of Iceland (Icelandic: Þjóðleikhúsið pronounced [ˈθjou̯ːðlɛi̯kˌhuːsɪð]) in Reykjavík is the national theatre of Iceland. The theater designed by Guðjón Samúelsson was formally opened on April 20 1950. Since 2005 the artistic director of The National Theatre is Tinna Gunnlaugsdóttir.
