In enzymology a N-acetylglucosamine-1-phosphodiester alpha-N-acetylglucosaminidase (EC 3.1.4.45) is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reactionglycoprotein N-acetyl-D-glucosaminyl-phospho-D-mannose + H2O N-acetyl-D-glucosamine + glycoprotein phospho-D-mannoseThus the two substrates of this enzyme are glycoprotein N-acetyl-D-glucosaminyl-phospho-D-mannose and H2O whereas its two products are N-acetyl-D-glucosamine and glycoprotein phospho-D-mannose.This enzyme belongs to the family of hydrolases specifically those acting on phosphoric diester bonds.
