In enzymology a myo-inosose-2 dehydratase (EC 4.2.1.44) is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reaction246/35-pentahydroxycyclohexanone 35/4-trihydroxycyclohexa-12-dione + H2OHence this enzyme has one substrate 246/35-pentahydroxycyclohexanone and two products 35/4-trihydroxycyclohexa-12-dione and H2O.This enzyme belongs to the family of lyases specifically the hydro-lyases which cleave carbon-oxygen bonds.
