MTV Networks Baltic part of MTV Networks Europe represented MTV within the region. In 2006 MTV established: MTV Latvia MTV Lithuania and MTV Estonia. In 2008 Israeli telecommunications company Ananey communications purchased MTV Networks Baltic under a new licensing agreement with MTV Networks International. By early 2009 the Financial crisis of 2007-2009 had such an impact on the local economies within the region MTV Latvia and MTV Lithuania merged to form MTV Lietuva & Latvia.
