Monklands District General Hospital is a district general hospital in Airdrie North Lanarkshire Scotland. Administered by NHS Lanarkshire it serves a population of approximately 260000 people of North and South Lanarkshire council areas. The hospital has recently been in the Scottish media due to the decision to downgrade the accident and emergency A&E department and subsequent reversal of this decision by the newly elected Scottish Government.
