Molly Kazan (December 16 1906 – December 14 1963) was an American dramatist and playwright.Kazan was born Mary Day Thacher in Orange New Jersey the daughter of Emma Cecelia (née Erkenbrecher) and Alfred Beaumont Thacher a lawyer and the granddaughter of Elizabeth (Day) and classicist and college administrator Thomas Anthony Thacher. Her uncle was lawyer Thomas Thacher.
