The Moken (also spelled Mawken or Morgan; Burmese: ဆလုံလူမျိုး; Thai: ชาวเล chao le sea people) are an Austronesian ethnic group with about 2000 to 3000 members who maintain a nomadic sea-based culture. They speak their own language which belongs to the Austronesian language family.
