MLS Cup ’98 the third edition of Major League Soccer’s championship match was played between defending champion D.C. United and the Chicago Fire to decide the champion of the 1998 season. The game was played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena CA on October 25 1998. Chicago beat D.C. United 2-0 bringing an end to United’s reign as two-time defending MLS champions. The Fire’s Peter Nowak was named MVP assisting on both goals.
