Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (Central German Broadcasting MDR) is the public broadcaster for the federal states of Thuringia Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. Established in January 1991 it has its headquarters in Leipzig and regional studios in Dresden Erfurt and Magdeburg.
