Milanese (Milanes Milanées Meneghin Meneghìn) is the central variety of the Western Lombard language spoken in the city and province of Milan.In Italian-language contexts Milanese is often (like most non-standard Italian varieties spoken in Italy) called a dialect of Italian. However linguistically Milanese is not classified as a form of Italian. Milanese and Italian are distinct Romance languages and are not mutually intelligible.
