Michael Lee Bruner (born July 23 1956) is an American former competition swimmer two-time Olympic champion and former world record-holder. He competed at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal Quebec where he received a gold medal in 200-meter butterfly (also world record) and a gold medal in 4×200-meter freestyle relay. He received a gold medal at the 1978 World Aquatics Championships in Berlin.Bruner set two world records during his career.
