Melwood Priory was a priory in Lincolnshire England.In relation to the English Reformation Philip Bailey writes:One of the first to defy the king was a monk the superior of the Carthusian monetary at Melwood in the Isle of Axholme. The King ordered him along with several other Carthusian monks to be imprisoned in the Tower of London. After languishing for some time he with the others was taken out and barbarously executed in public. The monks name was Augustine Webster.
