Mauritians (singular Mauritian; French: Mauricien) are citizens natives and people whose ancestors lived in Mauritius. Mauritius is a multiethnic society which means that it is home to people of many different ethnic backgrounds Mauritians do not equate their nationality with ethnicity but with citizenship.
