Matthew Shija (born April 17 1924) is a Tanzanian prelate of the Roman Catholic Church.Shija was born in Puge Tanzania and was ordained a priest on January 17 1954. Shija was appointed bishop of the Diocese of Kahamaon November 11 1983 and was ordained bishop on February 26 1984. Shija served until his retirement on April 24 2001
