The Manning Memorial Light also known as the Robert H. Manning Memorial Lighthouse or Manning Light is a lighthouse located near Empire Michigan. Mr. Manning was a longtime resident of Empire. Manning enjoyed fishing offshore and often returned from these boat trips late at night. He often remarked to friends and relatives he wished a lighthouse was in the area to aid that navigation. After his death in 1989 friends and relatives raised funds to build the lighthouse as a memorial.
