The Maliar are a tribe found in the Potohar region of Punjab Pakistan as well as the Peshawar valley and some other parts of the North West Frontier Province(now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa). Many Maliar now refer to themselves as Arain another well known Punjabi caste.
