Maja Matevžič (born June 13 1980 Ljubljana) is a former professional WTA tennis player from Slovenia. Both her most recent WTA singles and WTA doubles matches were played on 21 August 2005 at Toronto. According to a user on TennisForum.com a news report said she is working on a return.Maja retired because of the injuries in September 2006. Her last tournament was in Portorož Slovenia where she played doubles with Tina Križan.Maja is now opening a tennis school in Slovenia.
