Lynmouth Foreland Lighthouse (also called the Countisbury Foreland Lighthouse after the nearby village) is located on Foreland Point. It was completed in 1900 to assist vessels passing through the Bristol Channel and is a round brick tower painted white. The light is 67 metres (220 ft) above the high tide and flashes 4 times every 15 seconds. Electricity was brought to the lighthouse in 1975 and it was automated in November 1994.
