Luther Hanchett (October 25 1825 – November 24 1862) was a U.S. Representative from Wisconsin.Born in Middlebury Ohio Hanchett attended the common schools.He studied law.He was admitted to the bar in 1846 and commenced practice in Fremont Ohio.He moved to Portage County Wisconsin in 1849.He engaged in lumber and mining enterprises.
