Luigi R. Einaudi is an Italian-American U.S. career diplomat. He assumed the post of Acting Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS) in October 2004 upon the resignation of Secretary General Miguel Ángel Rodríguez. Einaudi was born 1 March 1936 in Cambridge Massachusetts. Educated at Harvard University he attained a Bachelor of Arts in 1957. He served in the US Army between 1957 and 1959.
