The Tai Lü people (Chinese: 傣仂 Vietnamese: Người Lự) are an ethnic group of Vietnam China Laos and Thailand. They speak a Tai language. In Vietnam most Lu live in Lai Châu Province and their population was 4964 in 1999. In China they are officially recognized as part of the Dai ethnic group. The population in Thailand where they are called Thai Lue (Thai: ไตลื้อ) was in 1993 CE estimated to be approximately 78000.
