The Longkaikou Dam is an under construction gravity dam on the Jinsha River near Lijiang in Yunnan province China. The dam will have a height of 119 m (390 ft) and be constructed of roller-compacted concrete. Construction on the dam began in 2007 and was halted in June 2009 by the Ministry of Environmental Protection after it was being constructed without approval. The dam is expected to displace 2000 people. The dam will also support a fish proliferation system.
