The London Underground D78 Stock electric multiple units are used on the London Underground District line (except the Wimbledon-Edgware Road service). It is due to be replaced by S Stock by 2016 but as this process has yet to start no D Stock has been withdrawn. The D Stock is the last subsurface train to be replaced due to it being newer than the other subsurface trains and due to its recent refurbishment.
