The Lok Sabha (Hindi: लोक सभा) or House of the People is the lower house of the Parliament of India. Parliament of India consists of two houses: The Lok Sabha (Hindi: लोक सभा) or House of the People and the Rajya Sabha (Hindi: राज्य सभा) or Council of States. Lok means people and Sabha means assembly in Sanskrit.
