The London and North Eastern Railway Class J39 was a class of 0-6-0 steam locomotive designed for freight work. They were based on the previous Class J38 but with larger driving wheels. A total of 289 J39s were built over fifteen years. They were designed by Nigel Gresley and introduced in 1926. All passed into British Railways ownership in 1948 and they were numbered 64700-64988.
