Liverpool University Press founded in 1899 is the third oldest university press in England after Oxford University Press and Cambridge University Press. In 2012 it was shortlisted for the award of IPG Academic and Professional Publisher of the Year and was shortlisted again this year (2013). LUP specialises in languages and literatures history and visual culture. It has rapidly expanded since 2004 and now publishes approximately 50 books and 56 journal issues across 20 journals every year.
