Attiko Metro currently proposes that Line 4 of the Athens Metro will be a U-shaped line from Petroupoli to Ethniki Odos via Panepistimio Evangelismos and Zografos with a branch from Evangelismos to Nea Elvetia. In the long term Line 5 would take over the branch as part of the Athens Metro Regulatory Plan.
