Born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. Lil Wayne began rapping at an early age and later signed to Cash Money Records. He formed the duo The B.G.’z with fellow Cash Money artist B.G. and later enjoyed more commercial success as a member of the hip hop group Hot Boys.
