The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) or Liberal Democrats is an Australian political party founded in 2001. The party states it can be broadly described as a libertarian party. The party had one candidate David Leyonhjelm elected to the Senate at the 2013 federal election (taking his seat on 1 July 2014) and also has two representatives at local government level in New South Wales.
