The LGV Est européenne (often shortened to LGV Est) is an extension to the French high-speed rail network which currently connects Vaires-sur-Marne (near Paris) and Baudrecourt (near Metz and Nancy) and will in the future connect Vaires-sur-Marne and Vendenheim (near Strasbourg). 106 km (66 mi) is still under construction and 300 km (190 mi) in service.
