Lauchlin Bernard Currie (October 8 1902 – December 23 1993) was a Canadian-born U.S. economist from New Dublin Nova Scotia Canada.Currie served as White House economic adviser to President Franklin Roosevelt during World War II (1939 to 1945). From 1949 to 1953 he directed a major World Bank mission to Colombia and related studies. Information from the VENONA project references him in nine partially decrypted cables.
