The Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) is a proposed space mission concept designed to detect and accurately measure gravitational waves —- tiny ripples in the fabric of space-time —- from astronomical sources. The LISA Project’s present incarnation is the Evolved Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (eLISA).The LISA project was previously a joint effort between the United States space agency NASA and the European Space Agency ESA.
