The Laks or Laki (self-designation: Lak) are an indigenous people of Dagestan. They speak the Lak language. Laks historically live in the central part of Mountainous Dagestan. Ethnocultural territory of Lak people is referred to as Lakia that consists of Lakskiy and Kulinskiy Districts. There are about 180000 ethnic Laks.
