In enzymology a L-lysine 6-oxidase (EC 1.4.3.20) is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reactionL-lysine + O2 + H2O 2-aminoadipate 6-semialdehyde + H2O2 + NH3The 3 substrates of this enzyme are L-lysine O2 and H2O whereas its 3 products are 2-aminoadipate 6-semialdehyde H2O2 and NH3.This enzyme belongs to the family of oxidoreductases specifically those acting on the CH-NH2 group of donors with oxygen as acceptor.
