Konrad von Thüngen (1466–1540) was the Prince-Bishop of Würzburg from 1519 to 1540.Konrad von Thüngen was born into a Franconian noble family ca. 1466.He was appointed Prince-Bishop of Würzburg on February 15 1519 with Pope Leo X confirming his appointment on April 13 1519.In 1525 the Prince-Bishopric of Würzburg was one of the main centers of the German Peasants’ War during which peasants discontent with high taxes and forced labor requirements rose en masse.
