Kochi Metro is an under-construction metro system for the city of Kochi in Kerala India. The first phase is being set up at an estimated cost of 5181 crore (US$870 million) and is expected to be completed by 7 June 2016.Kochi is the first Tier-II city in India to be granted a metro under the Central Government’s plan to allow cities having population more than 20 lakhs to have a metro rail system.
