Kruppel-like factor 4 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the KLF4 gene. In embryonic stem cells (ESCs) KLF4 has been demonstrated to be a good indicator of stem-like capacity. It is suggested that the same is true in mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs).
