First generation Kindle Fire HD of Amazon’s Kindle Fire line of touchscreen tablet computers was announced on September 6 2012 and was available in two models 7 and 8.9. Both models were available to pre-order in the United States on September 6; the 7 version was released on September 14 while the 8.9 models were released on November 20 2012. The 7 model was released in France Germany Italy Spain and the United Kingdom on October 25 and in Japan on December 18.
