The Karnataka Legislative Assembly election of 2004 took place on 20 April and 26 April 2004 in 224 constituencies in Karnataka India. The elections were conducted to elect the government in the state of Karnataka for the next five years. The votes were counted on 13 May 2004. None of the parties were able to win a majority and the Bharatiya Janata Party emerged as the single largest party with 79 seats.
