Karang language (also called Mbum East or Lakka) is an Mbum language of Cameroon. Ethnologue 17 lists Karang Sakpu Ngumi (Ngomi) and Mbere as dialects. However Blench (2004) considers them to be separate languages: Ngumi within the Karang branch of Mbum Sakpu closer to Kuo (Koh) and Mbere closer to Mbum proper. Ethnnologue lists all four among the thousand speakers in Chad and only Karang and Ngumi among the majority in Cameroon.
