Julius Peter Heil (July 24 1876 – November 30 1949) was the 30th Governor of Wisconsin from 1939 to 1943. A Republican he was born in Düssmund an der Mosel Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1881. In 1901 he founded the Heil Company in Milwaukee which fabricated steel tank cars. He served two two-year terms as Wisconsin’s governor after defeating Philip La Follette.
