Julio Becerra Rivero (born 1973 Cuba) is an American Grandmaster of chess who lives in Miami FL. He plays for the Miami Sharks in the U.S. Chess League.Becerra won the Cuban Chess Championship in 1996 and 1998 and played in the Chess Olympiads of 1994 1996 and 1998. He stayed in the U.S. in 1999 after playing the FIDE World Championship in Las Vegas. Afterwards he moved to Miami in 2005. He was MVP in the U.S. Chess League in 2006.
