Juan Carlos Ferrero Donat (Spanish pronunciation: [xwaŋ ˈkarlos feˈreɾo ðoˈnat]; born 12 February 1980) is a retired professional tennis player and a former world no. 1 player from Spain. He captured the men’s singles title at the 2003 French Open and in September of that year became the 21st player to hold the world no. 1 ranking. He was also the runner-up at the 2002 French Open and the 2003 US Open. His nickname is Mosquito due to his speed and his slight physical build.
