John Wood Fishburne (1868–1937) Virginia Congressman and cousin to Congressmen Fontaine Maury Maverick and James Luther Slayden of Texas. All three of these men are related to the oceanographer Matthew Fontaine Maury of Virginia.Fishburne was a Representative from Virginia; born near Albemarle County Charlottesville Virginia on March 8 1868; attended Pantops Academy near Charlottesville Va. and Washington and Lee University in Lexington Virginia.
